AND 

 TRAIL CONDITIONS:  Shoes are recommended for this ride.  The Forest Grove Ranch Riders have worked very hard on the trail this year to make a fun, interesting and safe trail for riders and horses of all abilities.  You will have two trails to choose from this year.  One shorter and easier trail that is about 5 miles or two hours in length.  For those with green horses (or out of shape horses!) or green riders - this will be ideal.

The longer trail is just about three hours in length.    You will travel on some rock road to get around some of the logging activity.  There are no water crossings this year.  We have installed culverts at the two main crossings and built some new trail to avoid a third.  You will still encounter some run off on the trail, but should not need to cross it. Some of the areas that have been mucky and wet in the past will be better for the work the crew put in to divert some of the natural springs.   You will encounter uphill and downhill terrain, though nothing that is a shear climb or drop off.

You will enjoy some beautiful veiws of Patton Valley as you come out of the trees on top of the ridge.  The forested areas are really scenic and pretty.   We consider this longer trail to be moderate in difficulty.   There will be places that may be a challenge for green riders.
