The Forest Grove Ranch Riders

The Ranch Riders are a small family oriented horseback riding club based in Forest Grove Oregon.  We have been in existence for 60+ years and still have some founding families in our group.  

We plan many day rides, camp outs and events that all of our members can enjoy.  The club is also very community focused.  We look for opportunities to support local youth and handicapped riding associations such as 4-H Riding clubs, The Oregon High School Equestrian Teams (OHSET),  P.R.I.D.E. Equine Rescue Program and the B.E.A.T (Bradley Equine Assisted Therapy) Program. 

FGRR has established specific application criteria to screen local groups or events asking for donations.  We look for groups that further good sportsmanship, horsemanship and help to promote opportunities for anyone interested in keeping horses.  

Our club works closely with the Oregon Department of Forestry and Oregon Equestrian Trails to build and maintain multi-use trails and horse camps around our state.  The Ranch Riders also participate with S.O.L.V. (Stop Oregon Liter and Vandalism), to help clean up our Tillamook State Forest, and keep this pristine forest available for anyone to enjoy.  

Our donations and support come exclusively from our Cowboy Breakfast and Poker Ride. (See our Poker Ride 08 page)  This family event, is held every year on the Sunday in June immediately following the Portland Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade.  We are very fortunate to have a very loyal group of riders that come every year - even on those years when we are blessed with Oregon rain!  We try very hard to have a good selection of quality prizes for those individuals that draw the top poker hands.

Our club meets the SECOND Friday of every month at the Elmer's Restaurant in Hillsboro.  We meet for dinner at 7PM and then start our meeting at 8 PM.  We would be delighted if you and your family would like to attend a meeting and check us out!

Joining our club is pretty easy! You will have to attend at least two meetings and three club sponsored events.  Additionally, you will need to have three club members sponsor you and to propose your membership. Our membership dues are a whole whopping $5 per person - per year!!

The Ranch Riders are a pleasure riding club. Our club has been known to hold regular rides in the winter at a local arena - to help keep our horses (and ourselves) in shape... we often play games at those rides, but it's just for fun!  Family members of all ages are welcome at these events.
